Queen Camilla
First words about Kate’s condition
Despite concerns for her husband Charles and daughter-in-law Kate, Queen Camilla continues to attend public appointments. On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Queen visits a farmers’ market in Shrewsbury and speaks to two young girls about the Princess of Wales’ health.
While Prince William, 41, has withdrawn from the public eye since the poignant video message from his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, and is spending the Easter holidays with his loved ones in Norfolk, Queen Camilla, 76, continues to go about her royal duties and show herself at public appearances.
Queen Camilla speaks about Catherine, Princess of Wales
The wife of King Charles, 75, visits a farmers’ market in Shrewsbury on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 and can look forward to cheers from several royal fans. Queen Camilla even has a more in-depth conversation with two young girls; the two have made posters with well-being wishes for Kate, who is suffering from cancer, and asked Camilla to pass them on to the Princess of Wales. A promise that the Queen is happy to keep. The 76-year-old reveals the current condition of her successor:
I know Catherine is thrilled with all the well wishes and support.
During her numerous appearances in recent weeks, Camilla has not allowed herself to be persuaded to make any statements about Catherine; she seems to have made a rare exception for the loving posters of the young royal fans.
Kate and Charles are battling cancer
After King Charles announced a few days after his prostate operation in January that he had cancer and would now undergo treatment, Catherine, Princess of Wales, made her diagnosis public on Friday, March 22nd. Previously, wild conspiracy theories about her condition and her marriage were doing the rounds. In a moving video message, Kate then explained what was really going on. “In January I had major abdominal surgery in London and at the time they thought I didn’t have cancer. The operation was successful. However, post-surgery tests revealed that cancer was present,” she said. Kate also revealed that her doctors have recommended “preventive chemotherapy” and that she is now in the early stages of this treatment. For this she would like “some time, space and privacy”.
