Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating the first wedding anniversary since Prince Philip’s death “privately” at Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth II (95) spends the first wedding anniversary after the death of her husband, Prince Philip (1921-2021), in seclusion. “It is located at Windsor Castle and, according to information provided by palace employees, is celebrating this moment privately,” reports a Royal reporter from “ITV News”.

The then Princess Elizabeth and Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten were married on November 20, 1947 at Westminster Abbey in London. Their relationship was the longest of any British ruler. After his death on April 9th, the Queen said she and her family were in “a time of great sadness” but that she was comforted by the appreciations he had received.

Double baptism on Sunday

As “Mail Online” reports further, the monarch is said to be determined to take part in the double baptism of her two great-grandchildren on Sunday in Windsor Castle. Her granddaughters, Princess Eugenie (31) and Zara Tindall (40), will have their sons, August Brooksbank (nine months) and Lucas Tindall (eight months) baptized in the All Saints Chapel in the palace area.

Most recently, the Queen’s state of health and various appointment cancellations made headlines. A month ago she was in the hospital for “preliminary examinations”. Then there was talk of a sprained back. The doctors ordered her to rest. She even had to cancel her participation in the Remembrance Sunday commemoration last weekend.
