Queen Elizabeth II has appeared again as part of Holyrood Week in Scotland. She attended a parade with Prince Charles.
Queen Elizabeth II (96) made another official appointment during her stay in Scotland as part of Holyrood Week. Several pictures show the Queen following a parade next to her son, Prince Charles (73), apparently in a very good mood. The royals also shared some of the footage on Instagram – among other things on the official account of Charles and his wife, Duchess Camilla (74).
In the garden of Holyrood Palace, the Queen’s official residence in Edinburgh, the two attended the so-called “Reddendo” parade. More than 320 members of the Royal Company of Archers, the Queen’s ceremonial bodyguard in Scotland, presented themselves to the royals. According to a BBC report The Queen watched from a chair as Charles greeted participants in the parade. Numerous guests were also allowed to follow the spectacle on site.
Queen Elizabeth II did not attend the garden party
The Queen has been in Scotland since Monday. According to media reports, she had not attended a garden party the day before. It was already known in May that the Queen would not be there. She was represented by her children Charles, Princess Anne (71) and Prince Edward (58) and his wife Sophie (57). Due to her restricted mobility, the Queen’s official appointments have for some time only been announced a few hours in advance.
