Queen Elizabeth II, 95, attended a Thanksgiving service in London’s Westminster Abbey on Tuesday, October 12th. The British monarch made do with a walking stick, with which she got out of the car and took her place in the church. She was accompanied to the appointment by her daughter, Princess Anne (71). Both wore colorful outfits: while the Queen wore a royal blue ensemble of coat and hat over a patterned dress, her daughter came in a purple coat and matching hat.

As reported by the British Daily Mail, the Queen is said to have been spotted with a walking stick in 2003 and 2004. At the time, the 95-year-old had a medical reason for this due to a knee operation. This time she is said to have used the walker only as a relief, the entrance to Westminster Abbey has stairs and uneven paving stones.

A few days ago the Queen had already attended a public appointment in London. Accompanied by her youngest son Prince Edward (57), she gave the starting signal for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The Queen traditionally handed over the baton for the international season on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace in London. He will be sent on a journey through all participating nations of the sporting event.
