Queen Elizabeth II: where is the monarch going after her summer break?

After the summer break, the Queen usually resides at Buckingham Palace again. Because of Corona, she could now take other paths.

Queen Elizabeth II (94) will allegedly make Windsor Castle her main residence for the time being because of the coronavirus pandemic and avoid Buckingham Palace, as the "Sunday Times" reports according to "Mail Online". The monarch wanted to go to London for appointments if it was safe, the newspaper said. In her 68-year reign, this would be the longest period the Queen has not been to Buckingham Palace, according to the report.

Are public appearances possible?

The Queen is currently at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where she is taking her annual summer break. She usually comes back to London in October. This year, she should give preference to Windsor, where she had been in Corona isolation since mid-March before her summer vacation with husband Prince Philip (99). An insider from the royal family told the report that there was a desire to return to Buckingham Palace, but only if the Queen was officially advised to do so. And that will probably only be the case when the Covid risk has been eliminated.

Apparently, suggestions are also being examined as to how the 94-year-old can perform in public without endangering herself. The monarch will then probably spend Christmas in Sandringham as usual, it continues.
