Meghan’s negative attitude towards her father has upset her

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles are said to have urged Duchess Meghan to reconcile with her father in 2018. Meghan’s reaction to this request was extremely “irritating” to the British royal family.
Duchess Meghan, 40, and her father Thomas Markle, 77, have not been in contact for four years. A circumstance that should particularly annoy Queen Elizabeth, 96, and Prince Charles, 73. The royals hoped for a reconciliation after the wedding of Meghan and Prince Harry, 37, and even recommended it. This is what author Tom Bower claims in his new tell-all book “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors”. Bower also wants to know why the former actress didn’t take the royal family’s advice.

The married duchess and the royal family were anything but light. The monarch and the heir to the throne hoped that a discussion between Meghan and her father would stop the headlines.
Meghan is said to have had a different opinion. In a conference call called by the royals, the 40-year-old voiced concerns. Meghan felt that a meeting between her and Thomas Markle would have “raised a lot of media interest and buzz” and that the move “could embarrass the royal family even more.” In addition, Meghan argued that she was not sure whether the phone connection and email contact with her father could be intercepted by the media.
Meghan’s comments “irritated” the royals
“The inconsistencies in Meghan’s excuses not only irritated Charles, but perhaps also the Queen,” says Bower’s disclosure book. The conference call ended with the British royals “upset” by Meghan’s negative attitude.
Whether that was the sticking point between Meghan and Prince Charles remains unsaid. However, Tom Bower, who has spoken to Meghan’s friends and enemies, claims to have learned that the 73-year-old disliked his daughter-in-law’s attitude. “He never really understood her or what she wanted,” Bower said.
