Queen Silvia celebrated her husband on April 30, 2024! The Queen took part in the traditional birthday parade with her family – and showed her fun side.

Grattis, king Carl Gustaf! In bright sunshine, the Swedish monarch celebrated his 78th birthday in Stockholm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones; only Princess Madeleine, 41, and Chris O’Neill, 49, were missing with their three children on this special day.

However, Queen Silvia, 80, and Co. didn’t let that dampen their mood. While the birthday child and son Prince Carl Philip, 44, first attended the parade in the castle courtyard and saluted, the rest of the royal family watched the events from the castle balcony. Princess Estelle, 12, had a particularly great time, cuddling up to her grandmother, whispering and laughing with her.

Queen Silvia encourages royal fans to cheer

Seems like Silvia was in a particularly good mood on her husband’s birthday. The 80-year-old not only made her granddaughter smile again and again, but also caused a few laughs among the people. Queen Silvia repeatedly put her hand demonstratively to her ear and signaled that the cheering was still too quiet for Carl Gustaf. No sooner said than done: The royal fans in the castle courtyard went even further and applauded even louder for their king!

Prince Julian almost falls asleep at Grandpa’s parade

Prince Julian, however, remained unimpressed by the cheers. The three-year-old son of Princess Sofia, 39, and Prince Carl Philip became more and more tired after initial faxes and at one point even closed their eyes. Seems like the baby missed a nap on that exciting day.
