No more counterterrorism interventions, the Rainbow team must now face an entirely different threat in R6 Extraction. In this PvE game, agents of Ubisoft’s flagship license will have to overcome an alien invasion. Tactical FPS takes a new turn, now allowing you to face off against aliens rather than against other players.
Alien vs. Rainbow
Inspired by the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak event, Extraction will ask you to fight a mutant race of alien parasites. However, do not panic: the regulars of the Rainbow team will not be lost since you will find some of the agents from the license in this brand new game. To be played in a squad, it will ask you to complete a series of three objectives per game, with the aim of reducing the enemy forces.
It will therefore be necessary to team up if you wish to come to the end of this invasion which threatens the world. As with the original game, each agent will have a unique ability as well as two gadgets that you will have to choose before even knowing the stakes of your mission. You will need to be resourceful and put a strategy in place even before your deployment.
Thereby, Doc can act as a healer if you have the idea of playing it nag with the hammer of Sledge for example. On the contrary, you can also bet on discretion with characters like Pulse and its HB-5 cardiac sensor. It’s up to you to choose the method that suits you best! The only advice we can give you: coordinate with your teammates.
Indeed, the game is far from easy. Suffice to say that it will even give you a hard time. First aid kits are generally scarce or even valuable, as are ammunition that must be carefully distributed among all agents. However, if normal mode is not enough for you, you can also take it up a notch with two other difficulty modes which for once will constitute a real challenge. Either way, it won’t be fun.
Never the same Extraction
The major advantage of Extraction lies in its ability to renew itself. It will be necessary to have spent a few hours on it before replaying the same part. With three objectives to complete, more than ten missions in total, not to mention the fairly large pool of agents or the different maps available, you will clearly have plenty to do. We still hope that content will be added regularly by Ubisoft, just to keep players in suspense.
In order to add even more diversity, you will also be able to have fun with the different agent / weapon / gadget combinations. Come to an agreement with your teammates and try new things in order to do the best you can with the tasks assigned to you. You will be able to take care to help your allies, a drone to favor discreet approaches, or adhesive grenades to surprise your enemies.
In addition, you will have access to cosmetic items allowing you to customize your weapons and agents. A battle pass-like system is available in Extraction, which you reward for your hard work. From what we have seen, the skins are still the same but they are suitable for all agents. After the official release of the game, we are therefore hoping for limited-time events in order to collect a little more unique elements.
We also know that there will be a story mode. This should extend the life of the game with, like a Back 4 Blood, the ability to redo the missions by changing your choices and therefore your strategy. You will unlock cards and levels within them as you progress through the story. What to spend good evenings with friends!
A new release will make its appearance day one on the game pass, and this time it’s heavy, since it is the next PVE game focused on Rainbow Six Siege which will inaugurate the arrival of the Ubisoft catalog.
