The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is currently the fastest chip for Android phones, unfortunately the corresponding models quickly cost 800 euros and more. At Media Markt and Saturn you can get a cell phone with such a processor for less than 500 euros this weekend. Both dealers have reduced the price of the Realme GT.

The Realme GT 5G with Snapdragon 888 5G processor, twelve gigabytes of RAM and 6.43-inch AMOLED display is available from Media Markt for only 439 euros. This is the current best price for the smartphone. Other retailers charge at least 479 euros for the Realme smartphone. If it is sold out at Media Markt, you can still find it at Saturn for the same price.

Is it worth buying?
The Realme GT has rarely been cheaper than 439 euros. So you’re buying the phone here at a good price. You will hardly get a cell phone with a Snapdragon 888 cheaper. The display and computing power are convincing in the test, since the Realme GT is on a par with the Galaxy S21 or Xiaomi Mi 11. In terms of the camera and the workmanship, however, you have to make compromises. Unfortunately, the temperature management in our test device was not ideal either.
The performance wolf in rickety sheep’s clothing
The Realme GT offers a lot of performance at a low price, but this is clouded by the poor heat management. There are also problems in other areas: The workmanship could be better, for example, so that the back of the case doesn’t rattle when listening to music. On the other hand, the Super AMOLED display knows how to please. Nevertheless: it doesn’t have to be the Snapdragon 888, there are alternatives with better value for money.
