Rebound in the global food price index in March

PARIS, April 5 (Reuters) – The Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) global food price index rose in March, breaking a streak of seven consecutive monthly declines.

The FAO index, which tracks the world’s most traded food products, averaged 118.3 points in March, up from 117.0 points the previous month, the agency said Friday.

In February, the index reached its lowest level in three years. (Gus Trompiz report, French version Augustin Turpin)
