Recall: chemical hazard! This pan should no longer be used

Don’t use this pan anymore: TK Maxx is recalling a square grill pan because of harmful chemicals that could be released when using it.

Department store chain TK Maxx is recalling the L’Epicure Raw CI Square Grill Pan. When using the pan, there is a risk that harmful chemicals will be released, the company writes in a statement. This may be antimony, chromium, iron, manganese and vanadium, according to the “ProductWarning.eu” portal.

Consumers who have purchased this pan should expressly no longer use it. It has already been withdrawn from sale at TK Maxx. The recall will also be prominently displayed on the website.

Sales period: between February 2022 and December 2022

Article numbers: 157358; 157366; 172387; 172416; 172442; 172457 (these can be found on the price tag or on the till receipt)

Chemicals could be released when using the pan

The chemicals listed can cause a wide variety of symptoms. Some, like iron overdose, initially produce vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea. Others, like a chromium overdose, cause liver damage over the long term.

Customers can return the square grill pan to a TK Maxx store and will be refunded the full purchase price. The retailer did not say in its recall notification whether the return is also possible without a receipt. If you have any questions, you can contact customer service.
