Recall: Internal bleeding possible from broken glass

A call back was issued again. This time the warning comes specifically from Aldi. If you go shopping there, you should check your stocks as a precaution: the discounter is currently calling back a jam variety because it could contain foreign bodies, especially broken glass.

Call back at Aldi: broken glass in jam

Specifically, it is the following product:

  • "Blueberry Jam extra "from TAMARA
  • In a 370 gram jar
  • Supplier: "W. L. Ahrens GmbH & Co. KG"
  • Best before date 17.09.21
  • Sold by Aldi

The supplier has informed Aldi that it cannot be excluded that the blueberry jam contains broken glass. The affected batch should therefore no longer be consumed. In the worst case, small fragments can cause internal bleeding and are not noticed when eating.

Aldi is said to have already taken the jam out of sale. However, anyone who already has a glass with a best before date of September 17, 2021 is encouraged to bring it back to the store. There, customers should be reimbursed the purchase price even without receipt.

Aldi points out that other batches, products or best before dates of the supplier W. L. Ahrens GmbH & Co. KG are not affected by the recall. The recall was only announced by Aldi Nord, whether the jam was also sold by Aldi Süd is unclear.

Customers can now contact the manufacturer directly if they have any uncertainties or questions. For this he has published a service telephone number (0151 16171039) as well as an email address: [email protected].

Aldi apologizes on the website for the inconvenience. The discounter currently has several recalls to report, and certain mini watermelons should also no longer be consumed because they contain a toxic pesticide.
