Received good grades – commuters give Deutsche Bahn good marks this year

Thousands of Lower Austrians take the train to work every day. The traffic club (VCÖ) now asked the satisfaction of the passengers with the train offer. And the reviews are consistently positive.

At the end of the year, the VCÖ calls for the distribution of certificates for the domestic railway companies. In Lower Austria, this year passengers on trains of the ÖBB, the Westbahn and the Mariazellerbahn were asked about their satisfaction with the offers and services. “Passengers in Lower Austria give train staff top marks for friendliness and helpfulness,” says Michael Schwendinger from Verkehrsclub, summarizing the result. The number of seats on the trains is also rated as sufficient this year. However, this is also likely to be related to the fact that, due to the pandemic, fewer passengers were recorded this year than in pre-Corona times. However, 25 percent see a need for improvement in connecting trains, while 30 percent of passengers would like more frequent train connections. St. Pölten Central Station is rated as the fourth most beautiful railway station in the whole of Austria, and Baden, Bruck an der Leitha and Tullnerfeld are also among the top ten. Neumarkt an der Ybbs-Karlsbach achieved a top ranking among the smaller stations.
