Make lemon ice cream yourself: the ingredients

  • Juice of 3 lemons (approx. 150 ml)
  • 100 g sugar (or powdered sugar)
  • 400 g of yogurt
  • 3 egg whites

Lemon ice cream: step-by-step preparation

  1. For the lemon ice cream, first cut the lemons in half and squeeze them out.
  2. Put the lemon juice with the yoghurt and half of the sugar in a bowl and beat until creamy. Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  3. Separate the eggs and beat the remaining sugar with the egg whites until stiff.
  4. Fold the egg whites under the yoghurt mixture and add the lemon ice cream to the ice cream maker.

Prepare lemon ice cream without an ice cream maker

Alternatively, you can freeze the lemon ice cream in the freezer. For that you should Allow at least 5 hours and stir the ice cream every half hour to prevent ice crystals from forming.
