Red Alert: finally, the next Pixar will not be released in theaters, but directly on Disney +!

Since the COVID crisis and the launch of Disney +, the animated feature films of the Mickey no longer necessarily go to the cinema. No wonder this change in strategy, because in addition to boosting subscriptions to its streaming platform, sometimes with a digital purchase moreover (outside France), it is much more difficult to attract families to theaters. Between risks and restrictions of all kinds, not to mention the necessary budget, nothing beats the comfort of your living room. With omicron, large groups seem to start to be cautious again, since after Sony Pictures who pushed back the release of his Morbius, so it’s Disney who announced this Friday thatRed alert will not be released in theaters on March 11 as planned.

The next Pixar, baptized Turning Red in English, will therefore follow the same path as the previous productions of the animation studio, Drunk and Luca, much to the chagrin of some of the public if we are to believe the comments under the tweet announcing it. Thereby, Red alert will come out directly on Disney + the 11th of March. If you do not yet know the pitch of this colorful film, a trailer was released last November.

Obviously, this news will probably not concern the countries in which the platform is not established, but Red alert will therefore shun North American cinemas. What will happen to France? We don’t have the answer yet, so hard to say with the archaic rule of media chronology still in place … In the case of Raya and the Last Dragon, it was necessary to wait three months between the initial release and the arrival on the SVoD in our country, as much to say an eternity at the time of Internet.

It remains to be seen whether the law of the series will also fall on the Pixar next, much more expected, namely Buzz Lightning (Lightyear), scheduled for June 17, 2022 across the Atlantic. In all cases, the subscription to Disney + is always from € 8.99 per month and € 89.90 per year.
