Hansa shakes Elversberg in the 103rd minute, Kiel counters a 40-meter goal

Greuther Fürth shocked Holstein Kiel in the 2nd Bundesliga with a goal from 40 meters, but the northern lights turned the game around in eight minutes. Hansa Rostock turns the game at promoted Elversberg deep in injury time, in the top game at St. Pauli Fortuna Düsseldorf’s keeper holds the draw.
FC St. Pauli – Fortuna Dusseldorf 0:0
New season, old result: Promotion candidates FC St. Pauli and Fortuna Düsseldorf drew 0-0 in an entertaining game on the second day of the second division. In front of 29,000 spectators at the Millerntor there were no goals despite good chances like three months ago.
For the third time in a row, St. Pauli remained without a goal against Fortuna, who after the red card against Karol Mets (83rd) did not succeed even with a majority. With four points, both teams are still on target.

Despite a goal from Carlo Sickinger (56th), Elversberg conceded the first defeat in league two.

The strong Fürth didn’t capitalize on their superiority in the first half, in the second half the game became wild at times. The Fürth lead by Branimir Hrgota (63rd) from 40 meters after a goalkeeper error was equalized by Jonas Sterner (68th), before a short time later Shuto Machino (71st, penalty kick) turned the game around. The 11,790 spectators in Kiel initially saw a restrained and balanced initial phase before Alexander Zorniger’s team took the initiative. Tim Lemperle (22nd) with a header and Julian Green (35th) with a free kick on the crossbar had top-class chances for the cloverleaf.
However, Kiel came out of the break better – and was shocked. Keeper Thomas Dähne tackled a long ball right into Hrgota’s foot, who hit the empty goal with a direct shot from a good 40 meters. But the shock was short-lived, as Lewis Holtby, who had come on as a substitute seconds earlier, found Sterner with his sharp cross, who equalized. Suddenly the game in Kiel really picked up speed, Fürth goalkeeper Jonas Urbig brought down Machino, who converted the penalty just three minutes after the equalizer and turned the game around.
