Red Hot Chili Peppers: Rock band mourns ex-guitarist Jack Sherman

The Red Hot Chili Peppers mourn their former guitarist Jack Sherman. The musician died at the age of 64.

US musician Jack Sherman (1956-2020) is dead. The guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' first album ("Californication") was 64 years old. The cause of death was not disclosed. The band said on Instagram: "Jack played on our debut album as well as our first tour of the US. He was a unique guy and we thank him for all the good times and bad and everything in between."

Sherman replaced the guitarist Hillel Slovak (1962-1988) on the debut album in the early 80s and also worked on the follow-up, "Freaky Styley" (1985). Before the release of the record, however, he was replaced by Slovak, who returned. According to "Deadline" Sherman was then involved in other releases of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
