Refused at the Louvre for her outfit, she replied by parading there

Last July, Océane Nelien was refused entry to the Louvre museum because of her outfit deemed inappropriate by an employee. In response, the young stylist has just organized an unauthorized parade there.

While she thought she was spending a nice day surrounded by her friends at the Louvre, Océane Nelien finds herself humiliated even before having set foot in the museum. Last July, a museum employee refused her access, even though her entry ticket had already been purchased. The reason ? Her outfit deemed "inappropriate" for a place like this. Océane is dressed in a mid-length skirt and a tied shirt that reveals her shoulders and her stomach. Other young women, wearing short shorts, for example, come home without worry.

She looks at me like I'm a shit

" In addition to denying me access, this lady asks me to go buy a sweater to be able to enter the museum. She also takes a picture of me "Says Océane. Furious, she films what is happening, explains why the situation is unacceptable, and in passing the employee. She posts this video on Instagram in the wake, however apologizing immediately for the offensive part of her By the way, due to the strong emotion felt in front of this injustice.

Not wanting to stop there, the stylist asks to speak to officials, who finally believe after discussion that the young woman can access the museum, on condition, however, to put a shawl over her shoulders. Océane and her friends end up entering the museum. She will never see the employee in question again.

A parade in the heart of the Louvre to take revenge

The sequence recalls that lived by Jeanne, to whom employees of the Musée d'Orsay asked to cover her cleavage to access it. To take her revenge, Océane Nelien for her part decided to organize a "wild" parade – understand, unauthorized – in the heart of the Louvre with the message: women have the right to dress as they want without be constantly judged. The young woman presents recycled denim pieces from her third collection, "ON FOCUS COLLECTION". She then posted a video of the show on Instagram and Twitter, where she accumulates more than 200,000 views.

Public parades, the stylist is used to them. It is even his trademark. " Fashion so coveted should be accessible to all and without invitation. By parading in public places such as department stores or the metro, my goal is above all to democratize fashion ", explains Océane.

His credo? Never give up

Unfortunately, fashion is a very closed environment and Océane Nelien is well aware of it. Le Bon Marché does not want to exhibit its creations? She invites herself there to present her collection, again in a guerrilla parade. " I didn't give up and I was lucky to have friends around me to count on. Without them, the parade would not have taken place. Alone we are strong, together we are even stronger ", she adds. Today, Océane devotes herself entirely to her eco-responsible brand and has absolutely no intention of giving up."You just have to believe in yourself, we are all exceptional beings and we can all make it ", she concludes.
