Non-vaccinated caregivers who had been suspended can now return to their service in the same position or an equivalent position. And this, under the conditions defined by the government and transmitted to hospitals for two weeks. For the moment, only a few thousand professionals are concerned.

After a long fight, unvaccinated health professionals can finally return to their service. The decree was published this Sunday 14 mail in the Official Journal and it takes place according to the conditions defined by the government to anticipate these returns. A few thousand caregivers are affected at the moment, according to estimates from the Ministry of Health. For some, this news is no reason to return to their old job.

Caregivers changing lanes

A year and a half ago, Sophie had to leave her job as a catering worker in a nursing home because of this refusal to be vaccinated. The young woman testified at the microphone of Europe 1: “I am not returning to this position or another position in this environment. Since then, I have been training and I have obtained a payroll manager diploma”. At the Arpajon hospital, in Ile-de-France, the director of the establishment, Cédric Lussier, noticed this change.

Of the staff suspended and contacted again, few responded. “We had about fifteen agents who told us that they refused to be vaccinated. There are potentially two agents who could be reinstated,” he lamented. In addition, the employees concerned are not caregivers. They are an administrative services officer and a technical services officer. Among the recalled staff, a nurse categorically refused to return.
