Yuck ?! Most couples share these items – do you?

"Sharing is caring" is an English proverb – and according to a British study, many couples take this very literally …

Feelings, secrets, thoughts, memories, such things as sharing with the treasure usually strengthens the bond, promotes trust and intimacy (okay, sometimes not, as these stories show, but that now leads too far …). But besides everything that goes on in our hearts, there is also the very banal, material world in which we live and which also offers a lot of material to share and demonstrate closeness and intimacy – and like a British study Now shows, very many couples have very few inhibitions in this regard.

A good 4,300 couples were interviewed

On behalf of the cleaning company "End of Tenancy Cleaning London", around 4,300 couples were asked about their willingness to participate in the study:

  • "Which everyday objects do you use together or at least occasionally with your partner?"

The respondents were able to choose from a list of items that they would share with their loved one from time to time. And as it turns out, the absolute majority of the pairs in this sample share any amount …

These items are shared by the absolute majority of couples

Proud 86 percent of the participants stated that they would of course do the cutlery use your treasure. To be honest, we're almost a bit surprised that 14 percent apparently don't do that. After all, what could be more romantic than putting your own fork in each other's mouths tenderly and letting the other try your pasta …?

81 percent of the couples shared with the study leaders that they and their sweetheart are the same Lip balm used – who of the two bought it and always has it in his handbag?

The third most shared item is – and now it's getting nasty – this towel. 79 percent of the respondents are likely to have regular fights over who will shower first.

Places four to seven were also viewed as "ours" by an absolute majority of those surveyed, i.e. more than half of them: Tweezers (70 percent), nail clippers (62 percent), soap (61 percent) and deodorant (57 percent) – that definitely saves space in the bathroom.

These things share 50 percent and less

Unwashed clothing then only gave 50 percent the participants in the study to use together. Could this have something to do with the fact that maybe only about 50 percent fit into each other's clothes ?! In a survey only among women, we would have expected that around 100 percent would have already had their shirt on at breakfast.

Among the least common items in this survey were about the Toothbrush (39 percent), underwear (27 percent) and razor (22 percent – WOW, at least!). From the toothbrush onwards, the willingness to participate slowly ceases for many people – even with regard to the loved one.
