Release, innovations, download: iPhone update iOS 16 is just around the corner

Apple fans have been looking forward to the next iPhone update iOS 16 for a long time. Read here what is already known and what you can look forward to.

There are usually enough rumors about new iOS versions, but with iOS 16 the situation is quite manageable. What is known so far: Apple will present the main novelties of iOS 16 as part of the WWDC from June 6, 2022 officially introduce. The rest have a lot of question marks.

So far it is not clear which iPhones should even get iOS 16. According to rumors, the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE (2016) will no longer be supported. The first beta is supposed to be in July, the launch as always in the fall. Apparently, Apple is already a bit behind on its schedule.

According to information from Bloomberg, iOS 16 does not bring a major visual update. Rather, new opportunities for interaction and refreshed apps should come from Apple. Well, refreshed apps actually come with every new major release of iOS, so that’s a safe bet.

“Interactions” are supposed to be new functions for notifications, but Bloomberg is not much more specific. There should also be new functions for health tracking, there are rumors about extended sleep analysis, you can stay curious.

Speaking of new controls: many users would like at least interactive widgets. Widgets have only been on board since iOS 14 and so far Apple has not expanded the basic concept.

Apple is also stepping on the gas when it comes to passwords and is collaborating with Google and Microsoft secure logins without a password Ahead. There may be a new app here that simplifies password management and catches up with services like 1Password.

Apple Pay fans could get a new feature hailing the internet as “buy now, pay later.” What is meant is that contactless payment by iPhone is coupled with extended financing.

If you switch to a new iPhone 14 in autumn, you will get iOS 16 pre-installed and some of the innovations in the operating system are of course also due to the new functions of the smartphone:

The iPhone 14 is said to be able to automatically detect car accidents and make emergency calls. Of course, there would have to be corresponding software functions in iOS 16.

It is also rumored that the iPhone 14’s emergency functions work even when there is no network connection. Satellite connections should be able to be used here.

Since the iPhone 14 is finally supposed to get rid of the notch, i.e. the indentation at the top edge, there would be more space for information at the top of the screen.
