A few days ago, Renault formalized the production version of its small R5 E-Tech Electric. But by presenting the interior of this new model, the manufacturer would have leaked an image… of its future R4.

It was just a few days ago, as part of the 2024 Geneva Motor Show. The French manufacturer Renault formalized the final version of its small electric R5 E-Tech, a new version of this French automobile classic, born in 1972.

After the R5, the R4!

The new Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is the first vehicle entirely designed on AmpR Small, the new Ampere platform dedicated to B-segment electric vehicles. It is this same platform that will be used to develop the future R4, including a first concept adventurer was presented at the end of 2022.

The future production Renault 4 will thus share various similarities with its big sister, in terms of the engine, the battery and even the dashboard. In its press kit dedicated to the R5, Renault would have included an image… of this same R4.

An image of R4 slipped “by mistake”?

Indeed, as indicated by our colleagues from The Argus, in the images allowing you to discover the different finishes of the future R5 to come, we find the Evolution finish. Among the images, we can discover the rear of the electric car… with glazing that is surprising to say the least.

Indeed, the latter is made up of two windows, separated by a small amount, an aesthetic detail absent from the R5… but present on the R4 concept presented in 2022. Added to this is a more rounded general shape, and various details also missing from the R5.

If the first tests of the new Renault 5 E-Tech electric should take place during the summer, we will have to wait until October to find out everything about the little R4. This should indeed be exhibited on the Renault stand, in its final version.
