Research section: Did Fabienne Carat take her little daughter to the set?

In Research Section, which returns to TF1 for a special double episode produced in Reunion, the actress plays Jeanne, now at the head of the team. Interview about her life as an actress and a young mother.

In the episode of Research section filmed in Reunion, we see you in very physical scenes. You confirm ?

FABIENNE CARAT: Yes, especially those in waterfalls and torrents. It was almost climbing and super sporty! It was so steep that they had installed big ropes for us to hang on to. But I love getting out of my comfort zone and doing stunts or even fight scenes.

We discover you slim and very muscular. Did you train beforehand?

Not really, these are old leftovers from before pregnancy. (Laughs.) I appear very thin in this episode because I took care of my daughter a lot (Céleste, 2 years old, editor’s note) and I ate less. I was in a sort of maternal emotional overload.

When you go on a shoot like this, do you take it with you?

Yes. She came to Reunion for four weeks. I organized a rotation schedule to keep her there, between my sister, my cousin and a friend. And I found her every evening.

Will she also follow you on the filming of the new special episode in which you will participate very soon in Martinique?

She will join me for the last three weeks. I’m less stressed this time and much better at organizing. With the team, we are very happy to be able to bring something else to life for our characters. I welcomed this recovery with joy but without surprise. As for More beautiful life, I knew it was going to stop but also that it was going to start again.

Have you watched the first episodes of Life is more beautiful, even more beautiful, on TF1?

Yes, in replay. I could not wait. I find that they have very beautiful decor, that it’s fresher, more modern. I’m very happy that it’s starting again, for the public and for the whole team working on it. On the other hand, I am convinced that its broadcast schedule will be shifted to the evening. It’s an intuition.

Would you like to find a recurring role in a series?

In a series, yes. In a daily newspaper, no. I’m a single mother today, I couldn’t anymore. I continue to make music and I wrote a one-woman show in which I tell my story. It’s a bit of a sequel to my book (Dance with life, published in 2020, editor’s note). I played it twice and it will be scheduled in May in Marseille.

What does the controversy surrounding Gérard Depardieu inspire you?

I filmed alongside him a long time ago in a sequence from the film 36 Quai des Goldsmiths. Personally, I had no problem with him. Generally speaking, I have a lot of instinct. Each time there was a situation in my career that could lead me to minefields, I left, even if it meant losing roles. We miss things, that’s for sure, but we keep face. I happened to suffer psychological abuse on set. Today, I wouldn’t let it happen anymore. I am no longer prey.

What can we wish you for 2024?

Health. And also love, in the broad sense. Love of oneself and others.
