Resident Evil 7: old concept arts with Leon and Sherry in Italy discovered

With Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, released six years ago, Capcom was able to breathe new life into its franchise. The title introduces a new character, Ethan Wintersstuck in the home of the Baker in the bayou in Louisiana, with a first person camera. But RE7 was not thought of like that from the start.

You know it, Capcom, like other studios, is working on multiple projects and concepts, which may evolve and change during production. And Resident Evil 7 was originally meant to be in line with RE6, a third-person action shooter. This is what reveals AestheticGamer, insider well known to fans of survival horror which highlights concept art made by Ukrainian artist Sergey Ka. We see there Leon S.Kennedy in a European city, strongly inspired by VeniceAnd AestheticGamer explain that Sherry Birkinthe little girl seen in RE2 then became an agent of the BSAA In Resident Evil 6also had to be playable. A system of Choice to be done quickly to take different paths was also plannedinspired by the narrative games of Telltale Games.

The rest, you know it: Capcom set those ideas aside to totally transform the franchise with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, then Resident Evil Village. I have to say that RE6 had lost the fans a bit at the time, the title being a shoot Hollywood far from the horror of the first opuses. It’s still a pretty delirious nanar, but for a horrifying experience, it’s better to turn to Resident Evil Village Gold Editionsold €44.99 on Gamesplanet.
