  6. BASON Lighting LED backlight

If you want an Ambilight system for your TV too, but the Philips models are too expensive, you can easily install the backlight yourself. This ensures a pleasant atmosphere at home and gives you a wonderful home cinema feeling. Here we show you what alternatives there are to Ambilight for your smart TVs.

Alternatives to Ambilight: Philips Hue

If you don’t have a Philips TV that already has Ambilight as an integrated component, you can replace this function with Philips Hue bulbs. In addition to the lamps, you also need a Hue Bridge and a PC or a Philips Hue Sync Box to establish a connection to your device. You can connect the Sync Box to your TV using an HDMI cable. Using the Philips Hue app on your smartphone, you can then set up the lamps in your room the way you like it best.

Philips Hue Play Gradient Light Tube

Another practical alternative is the Philips Hue Play Gradient Light Tube. You also need a Philips Hue Bridge and a Hue Sync Box here, so that you can also use them in coordination with your television set. You can attach this light tube with a bracket underneath your television and easily rotate it by almost 360 degrees. You can also download the Philips Hue app here to record your personal settings.

Govee Immersion TV Set

The Govee Immersion lighting kit is particularly inexpensive and contains an RGB LED strip, a control unit and a camera as a complete set. Since the LED strips are self-adhesive, you can easily attach them to the frame on the back of your television set. The television picture is captured by the camera in order to pass on targeted color signals to the light strips and to create a special atmosphere. You attach the camera either at the top or bottom of your television frame. The whole system is controlled again with a suitable app, which you then install on your mobile phone.
