Return on life insurance: the erosion continues the GMF

The 2021 life insurance yield announcement season opened this morning with a surprise rise in the MACSF side. For GMF, no surprise: the unveiled rate is down slightly, 1.50%, against 1.65% the previous year.

Nothing escapes the readers of MoneyVox! As early as January 1, several loyal readers claimed to have observed a return net of management fees of 1.50% for the year 2021 on Multo’s euro fund and on other GMF life insurance contracts.

The mutual insurer confirmed this rate of 1.50% on Thursday, January 6 (1), while adding important information for the coming years: GMF Vie has a very large reserve of PPB [provision pour participation aux bnfices, NDLR] valued 6.60%. Which means that GMF has about 3 years of yield in reserve.

Life insurance: how is the rate of your fund in euros made

Despite this imposing reserve, the erosion of the remuneration continues over the years on the fund in euros Regular Support, present on the flagship Multo contract: 1.90% in 2019, 1.65% in 2020 and therefore 1 , 50% in 2021.

For the record, on average, funds in euros reported 1.46% over the year 2019, 1.28% in 2020 and the average rate should be around 1% for 2021.
