Rewe increases the transparency of its products. A QR code can now be found on the packaging of 36 meat and two dairy products, which consumers can use to obtain a great deal of additional information, as reported by the “Lebensmittel Zeitung”.
Products are items from the private label Rewe Bio. The code tells you, for example, the place of slaughter, butchering and processing. There is also identity data for tracing and information on the type of husbandry.
