Richard Mörtel Lugner: Everything is over with his "Zebra"

It's all over with "Zebra", Richard Lugner is single again. But he wants "a fixed partnership" and that is the exclusion criterion.

The Viennese entrepreneur and opera ball star Richard "Mörtel" Lugner (87) celebrates his 88th birthday on October 11th. With whom he will do this in times of Corona is not clear. One thing is certain, however, not with Katrin "Zebra" Karrer, because the two are no longer a couple. "I'm alone at the moment," he said when asked in an interview with the "Kronen Zeitung".

If he has his way, it shouldn't stay that way: "I admit that I would like to have a permanent partnership again. But I never looked for myself, women have always come to me." That still seems to be the case. "A woman recently said to me that she would like to be my 'tiger' …" reveals "Mörtel". But there he has principles: "But she is only 25, that's too young for me," is his exclusion criterion. Most recently he was married to Cathy "Spatzi" Lugner (30) from 2014 to 2016.

This is how he thinks of old age and death

Richard Lugner is currently recovering from a 28-day hospital stay at home. He had broken his femoral socket in a fall. In addition, there was intestinal bleeding and pneumonia. At the moment he has to lean on crutches, "and in the office, when nobody sees it, I drive around with the rollator," he says with a wink. Nevertheless, he is confident. "I'll be 88 soon and think that I could manage another ten years. And who knows: I might even be 100," said Lugner.

Apparently he doesn't think about death, just this much: "I'm in the middle of life, I suppress the thought of death. I don't want to die, but I don't want to waste away either. A quick, quick death would be nice," wishes he himself.
