Fans of two-wheel racing games will be able to find their favorite professional drivers in a few days with MotoGP 23but Milestone also develops RIDE 5, another title with motorcycles and more freedom. The game had been formalized a few days ago and he is talking about him again with a new video of gameplay :
To accompany this trailer, Milestone share a long message from Paolo Bertoni, producer of RIDE 5, who talks about the new features of this opus, which was designed exclusively for the latest generation platforms. So there will be a lot of improvements:
RIDE is a franchise that is unparalleled in the landscape of two-wheel simulations, because it addresses the reason as well as the heart of the players, and, as regards the second, we all know that the best way to achieve it is through the technological aspect of the product.
As you probably already know, RIDE 5 will be Milestone’s first game exclusively for the new generation of consoles; a choice motivated by the desire to meet ever higher requirements through various technical upgrades. For example, motorcycles will be improved through polishing glass effects, material rendering, and their polygonal representation.
In this area, the improvement of details comes from the use of scans obtained by photogrammetry or via the CAD tool provided by our partners. All this allows us to achieve a very high level of fidelity compared to the original motorcycles, as well as a better rendering in the game. I would also like to emphasize the new system imagined to represent volumetric clouds. The latter will physically react to changes in light to make the environment more lively and unpredictable, in particular thanks to the implementation of dynamic weather.
Physics will also have pride of place, with ever more customizable parameters and more precision. At the same time, the rivals of the players will be managed by an artificial intelligence with different levels of antagonism, which will make the rivals more or less aggressive when overtaking. Creating the game exclusively on next-gen allowed us to imagine all these features and offer them at the same time, whether there are 1 or 20 opponents on the track.
RIDE 5 will also work on its ability to be affordable for everyone, with the idea of guaranteeing a good time, even for the less experienced players piloting for the first time. The neural aids will allow novices to play and evolve at their own pace, while maintaining an appropriate level of challenge. That it is clear, accessible does not mean too easy. By disabling all aids and pushing the difficulty to the maximum, we guarantee that RIDE 5 will be extremely realistic and demanding.
Mind and heart, remember. Now that we have covered the technological aspects of RIDE 5, we will move on to the more emotional ones, which materialize in different ways. The first is the proposal of an experience with which everyone can identify. Concretely, RIDE 5 allows you to drive on authentic circuits and roads or created from scratch, to develop your own motorcycles, to change their liveries (which you will have created yourself or borrowed from other users thanks to the game editor), but also to customize your avatar. And to top it all off, RIDE 5 allows you to ride not world championship motorcycles, a privilege reserved for a handful of super-riders, but rather motorcycles that we see in dealerships, that we dream of at night or that the we already have.
Riding in RIDE 5 should provide the adrenaline of racing…Being one with your bike, feeling total control…If you can experience it all while enjoying breathtaking vistas and immersing yourself in the beauty of the world around you (with the wrist at 90° under the throttle), the bet will be successful. Let’s take as an example the very last circuit which was created especially for RIDE 5, located in the Pacific. Visually, it will be impressive, but also very demanding, with its technical turns and braking points, which will further boost the appeal of the splendid landscapes that accompany it.
