Rising prices benefit LDC, despite bird flu episodes

May 24 (Reuters) – France’s LDC group, one of Europe’s leading poultry producers, reported higher annual results on Wednesday on the back of a price hike that helped offset bouts of avian flu and rising raw material costs.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the 2022-2023 financial year rose by 37.2% to 547.4 million euros.

The agri-food company saw its energy and wage costs increase and its volumes be affected (-5.6%) by two episodes of avian flu.

The increase in prices operated by the group, however, enabled turnover to increase by 15.3% to 5.8 billion euros.

For 2023-2024, LDC says it is confident in its ability to exceed the milestone of 6 billion euros in turnover. (Written by Victor Goury-Laffont, edited by Blandine Hénault)
