Rita Wilson: That's why March 29th is a very special date for her

They were among the first celebrities to develop the novel corona virus. In the meantime, Rita Wilson (63, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding") and her husband Tom Hanks (63, "Forrest Gump") are healthy again and have traveled back from Australia to their home country USA. On Instagram, the actress and singer now explains the special meaning that the date March 29 has for her – and calls herself a "Covid 19 survivor".

The last days in March connect Rita Wilson with several joyful events in her life. Before she received the shock diagnosis of breast cancer five years ago, she successfully played theater on New York's famous Broadway. On March 29 this year, the 63-year-old now celebrated the day on which she was cancer-free for five years after a bilateral mastectomy. "I am so thankful for my health, for the doctors, nurses, friends, and family who have brought me through this time," writes Wilson.

Last year, the date offered two reasons for joy. On the day of the release of "Halfway to Home", the singer's fourth album, she received her star on the famous Walk of Fame in Hollywood. In her post, Rita Wilson remembers how as a child she read "all the names of the stars" that "adored" her. "I never would have believed that one day my name would be on one of these stars."

"Thank your incredible body"

On March 29 this year, the American celebrated the "beauty of this life" and the fact that she also survived the infection with the novel corona virus. As a "Covid 19 survivor," she urges her followers to pause for a moment and thank her "incredible" bodies for what they do every day.
