What attracts Hollywood star Robert De Niro to Hamburg? From 2025, the actor's new luxury hotel will be located in the Elbtower.

Hollywood star Robert De Niro (77, "Taxi Driver") is expanding his entrepreneurship – in Hamburg. Together with his business partners, the Japanese star chef Nobu Matsuhisa (71) and film producer Meir Teper, he will open a luxury hotel and restaurant in the Hanseatic city. This is to be found in the new Elbtower from 2025 and marks the first branch in Germany for the global lifestyle brand Nobu Hospitality.

Why did you choose Hamburg? The city is not only "one of the economically strongest locations in Germany", according to a statement by the brand, but also "an attractive destination for travelers, whether for business or pleasure". De Niro and his partners are looking forward to the project. Once the 245-meter-high Elbtower with its curved facade has been completed, it will have 64 floors. The Oscar winner is planning 191 rooms, a restaurant with 200 seats as well as a terrace bar and lounge with a view of the Elbe for the luxury hotel.
