Roborock Dyad Pro in the test: This suction wiper cleans and stands like one

Roborock is known for its strong and smart robot vacuums and mops. But if you want a particularly clean home, you’d better not rely solely on the robotic assistants. Your own muscular strength and nose tackle stubborn dirt or crooked corners most thoroughly. With the Dyad Pro, Roborock gives you a new combination device that you can use to remove wet and dry dirt from the floor in one go.

  6. Conclusion

The new addition from CES 2023 costs 450 euros, just as much as the previous Dyad model without the “Pro” suffix. In comparison, it should score with larger water tanks, longer battery life and better stability. And how well does the new wet and dry vacuum cleaner clean? To find out, Netzwelt had the Roborock Dyad Pro tested before it was launched.

Roborock Dyad Pro offers many professional cleaning talents

Like the Dyad premiere model, the Roborock Dyad Pro wet/dry vacuum cleaner in the test with three dampened brushes also wiped out spilled muesli or spilled red wine as well as dust fluff or cat hair in one go. Clever: Two built-in motors turn the front and the two rear rollers in opposite directions. Therefore, the trio always throws the dirt into the suction pipe, regardless of whether the device is moving forwards or backwards.

These are the other talents of the Dyad Pro:

  • Bigger tanks: Clean water flows onto the brushes from a 900-milliliter tank. The suction wiper pumps the dirty liquid into a 720-milliliter container. That’s more than the previous model, which drew a line at 850 and 620 milliliters.
  • More battery in Eco mode: The built-in 4,000 mAh battery lasts up to 43 minutes on a single charge, which according to Roborock is enough for a 300 square meter cleaning area. The battery capacity falls smaller than before. The previous generation offered 5,000 mAh and a cleaning time of up to 35 minutes. The fact that a longer runtime is still possible is due to the new Eco operating mode – the new maximum specification only applies to this. This mode reduces the suction power and thus saves energy. That’s enough for less dirty surfaces. The charging time remains the same: it’s around four hours.
  • Strong suction: In Max mode, the Dyad Pro flexes its muscles. With up to 17,000 Pascal, its suction power is really great. This is great for sucking up stubborn dirt particles.
  • Cleans flexibly: In Auto mode, the Roborock Dyad Pro detects the degree of wet and dry dirt. An infrared sensor helps him with this. If it hits, the cleaning device automatically increases the water flow and suction power.
  • Dries the floor: The Dyad Pro not only cleans away dirt, but also removes puddles of water from the bathroom tiles in a special floor drying mode with increased suction power. The puddles can be up to ten millimeters deep for this to work.
  • LED display and voice output: You can change the operating modes by pressing a button on the handle. A practical display informs about the current setting and the remaining battery life. Even without eye contact, you stay in the picture. Voice alerts let you know when the water tanks or battery need attention.
  • Personalization via app: For the first time, Roborock couples a hand-held vacuum cleaner with its smartphone app for Android and iOS. The parameters suction power, water flow and roller speed can be adjusted to your own preferences.
  • Stands by itself: If the doorbell suddenly rings, the handle of the Dyad Pro can be tilted forward a few degrees. Then it is locked and stands by itself until you unlock it again with a button. The previous model required folding out a stand to keep it from falling over.
  • Cleanly put away: When not in use, the Dyad Pro pauses in a docking station that is included. With dimensions of 36 x 32.2 centimeters, it takes up little space. Practical: The charging cable for the battery ends directly in the station. So it is enough to put the vacuum wiper in so that the charging contacts snap into place. Plugging in a cable is not necessary.
  • Wash and blow dry yourself: In addition to refreshing the battery, the station also takes care of cleaning the brushes. At the push of a button, the suction wiper distributes water to the cleaning rollers for several minutes, which then clean themselves as they rotate. A blower then dries the rollers for several hours to prevent odors from forming.

Roborock Dyad Pro set up quickly in the test

The new wet and dry vacuum cleaner Roborock Dyad Pro is very quick to set up and ready to use in the test. The brushes are factory installed. It is sufficient to attach the handle and fill the fresh water tank underneath. The container can be removed with a click and snaps back into place. Clear water is enough.

Adding cleaning fluid is possible, but not a must. Roborock only recommends special cleaners. You have to contribute it yourself. Roborock doesn’t pack one in the box. The cleaning solution comes in an extra container in the brush base. This should now automatically control the flow of cleaning agent and adapt it to the degree of soiling. In the absence of a sample of the remedy, we were unable to test this.

Simple operation and agile manoeuvres

The Roborock Dyad Pro is very easy to use. Three buttons on the handle control the most important functions. One switches it on and off, another switches through the four operating modes Auto, Eco, Max and Floor Drying. A third button activates self-cleaning in the charging station.

The LED display above the water tank clearly shows which mode is active. If you’re not looking, the voice feedback is doing its job. The voice is easy to understand despite the operating noise. She speaks English out of the box. In the manufacturer app you teach her German. For the first time, a hand-held vacuum cleaner from Roborock also supports smartphone connection via WLAN. In addition to the language and some cleaning parameters, settings for self-cleaning and drying can be specified there.

Some parameters of cleaning and self-cleaning can be personalized using a smartphone app. That's a nice bonus.

For example, you can vary the duration of the drying process and move the point in time with a circuit diagram. The app also allows you to use a log to track how often you clean each month. This is certainly not a hard criterion for a purchase decision, but it is a nice bonus.
