After a very high-end Kone XP Air equipped with numerous buttons and a charging station, Roccat plays the affordable card with a Kone Air mouse that costs €100 less than its big sister. It obviously offers fewer features, but remains wireless, connecting using the manufacturer’s 2.4 GHz Stellar Wireless receiver.

A heavy but enduring mouse

Not having RGB backlighting, its autonomy is announced for an impressive 800 hours. This will require inserting two AA batteries, because yes, it is possible to use only one to reduce the weight of the mouse. It will therefore be necessary to choose between lightness and autonomy, which we had seen at Razer in particular, but count 119 g with a single battery. It is therefore automatically excluded from the ultralight category, but remains at a weight similar to other competitors on the market.

The mouse retains the very typical Roccat aesthetic gaming, and ergonomics close to the XP Air, slightly beveled to better accommodate the hand. It also reminds us of the new Logitech G502 X in terms of color and coating, it must be admitted. There will be “only” two secondary buttons on the sides, plus one located at the thumb to activate secondary functions. Primary buttons are optical and guaranteed for 100 million activations. The sensor goes up to 19,000 dpi, more than enough sensitivity for all uses, let’s remember.

Available in black or white, the Kone Air is displayed at 70 €, a reasonable price these days, where we see a lot (too many) of mice around 150 €.
