Rocket League: RLCS Winter Major kicks off with forfeit team

Last night, Psyonix announced Team Sandrock Gaming’s forfeit to kick off the Winter Major 2021-22 on Rocket League.

Visa problems are starting again like last season in several esports competitions. Due to the complexities associated travel between countries in the midst of a pandemic, some teams are forced to stay at home. This is the case of Sandrock GamingPsyonix announced last night, revealing the team’s package for the RLCS Winter Major.

Psyonix has worked to ensure all the necessary documentation to allow the teams to travel to Los Angeles. Due to personal reasons and the complexity of the visa process, Sandrock Gaming will unfortunately not be able to travel to the USA. We have allowed them as much time as necessary to resolve the situation, but the circumstances are no longer within our control.

Thus, the competition will only have 15 teams. However, the format will not be changedannounces the organizer, who foresees only a few modifications to the schedule. The Saudi structure will not start from group D and will be displayed DNP, but will obtain 120 season points, the equivalent of a place in last position. No other team is forfeited for the tournament which starts today at 6 p.m. with the presence of the Swiss from Team BDS, or Team Queso, leader of the EU ranking after a very good split.
