Rodolphe Belmer, new boss of Atos


After a complicated 2021 year, Atos has since the start of this week a new boss: Rodolphe Belmer has taken up his duties as Managing Director.

Former boss of Eutelsat for six years, Rodolphe Belmer, 52, is an internationally recognized business leader. He also worked for 14 years in the Canal + television group, of which he was appointed CEO in 2003, before serving as CEO of the group between 2012 and 2015. Rodolphe Belmer is also a director of Netflix, the first service entertainment streaming services to the world.

Atos’ cybersecurity division is the nugget of the group. The contracts with the French Army inherited from the Bull company, acquired in 2014 by Atos, are also a strong asset for the company.

Decline in traditional infrastructure management activities

The acceleration of migration to the cloud, as a result of the pandemic, has led to an acceleration in the decline of traditional infrastructure management activities, weighing on the company’s accounts. The company revised its strategy in April 2021, and refocused on cybersecurity, digital, decarbonization and the cloud.

Last December, Atos offered itself Cloudreach to expand its cloud offerings. Founded in 2009, this company, which has partnerships with the three hyperscalers Google, Azure and AWS, employs more than 600 people and has its head office in London and offices in France, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands. In October 2020, Atos also had to pay a fine of $ 855 million in the United States, following the takeover of the company Syntel in 2018, a company accused of theft of intellectual property.
