The successor to Asus’ ROG Phone 5 has just been spotted. The most powerful line of smartphones in gaming is preparing to welcome its successor in the person of the ROG Phone 6 for which we are now entitled to several visuals and information before its release.

The first photos of the device

This information comes to us from the Chinese certification body TENAA which recently listed the device on its website where you can see a model in white color stamped with the Tencent brand. The design that can be seen in these photos remains in line with what Asus offers. Note, however, on the back of the device that some elements seem to have changed places.

The ROG Phone 5’s RGB strip appears to be off to the side of the device, unless perhaps it’s an upcoming novelty like a new secondary screen. The smartphone weighs 239 grams and has dimensions roughly equivalent to the ROG Phone 5 (172.83 x 77.25 x 10.39 mm).

Features revealed before the big announcement?

We also learn more about the specifications of the beast since TENAA tells us that the ROG Phone 6 will ship a 6.78-inch OLED screen, a SoC clocked at 3.2 GHz, which would be the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

If so, this is one of the best-equipped models that Asus will offer, because remember, the base model of the ROG Phone 5 only offered 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. There is also a 3.5 mm jack and a fingerprint sensor located under the screen, as for the ROG Phone 5.

TENAA also mentions the presence of a 2925 mAh battery. We can assume here that this is one of the two batteries used in pairs as on the ROG Phone 5 to offer a total nominal capacity of 5850 mAh (6000 mAh when the manufacturer announces it).

New on the optical side

For the photo part, it would use a main lens of 50 Mpx and another of 13 Mpx on the back. We can see what seems to be a third objective on the back without having more information on it. TENAA additionally mentions a 5x optical zoom, but according to Android Authoritythis would not be certain, because the organization has already been able to make mistakes in its lists of specifications before.

Asus has already announced an event for next July 5, during which we should have a first official preview of this new model. The company has already confirmed some of its features, such as Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and a screen refresh rate of 165 Hz.
