Actually, the new “Star Wars” movie “Rogue Squadron” should be shot in the coming year. Nothing will come of it.

Patty Jenkins (50, “Wonder Woman”) should be the first female director to shoot a main film in the “Stars Wars” series next year. But the work on “Rogue Squadron” will be postponed indefinitely, as reported by the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter”.

That’s why it’s going to start later

Jenkins will not have enough time to work on “Rogue Squadron” due to other dates in 2022, anonymous sources are said to have revealed. There is therefore currently no fixed production plan for the project. It is hoped that Jenkins will be able to move on to the film once she has taken care of her other obligations.

It is currently not clear whether a publication that is actually intended for Christmas 2023 can be implemented. Jenkins and Disney first announced the project in December 2020. There are also no further details about the plot. In an interview with “IGN” the director explained but last December that the film will tell a completely new story, but will be based on existing video games and books.
