Roskilde: Festival does not take place due to Corona crisis 2020

One of the largest music festivals in Europe will not take place this year due to the Corona crisis: As the Roskilde organizers announced via Facebook, the mega event in the Danish town of the same name was finally canceled. This is due to orders from the authorities that prohibit larger crowds all over Denmark up to and including August. Tickets already purchased would be valid for the coming year or be refunded.

With around 100,000 annual visitors, the open air in Roskilde has been one of the most popular destinations for European music fans for many years. This year, Taylor Swift (30), Kendrick Lamar (32) and The Strokes announced themselves as artists. The Roskilde Festival gained notoriety in 2000 when nine people were trampled to death during a concert by the US grunge band Pearl Jam.
