Roxette: So far unknown songs are coming out

Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson passed away almost exactly a year ago. Now previously unknown songs by the cult band are being released.

About a year ago, on December 6, 2019, Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson passed away after a long illness at the age of 61. Now her congenial partner Per Gessle (61) is bringing an entire compilation of previously unreleased songs, demo recordings that were believed to be lost, bonus tracks or alternative mixes from the Swedish pop duo's 30-year existence on the market. It already starts on Friday, November 30th, 2020 with Volume 1 of "Bag of Trix".

Three more albums will be released on November 13th and 27th and on December 11th, 2020, initially individually in digital format and in December as a 4-LP box and a 3-CD set. The announcement, in which Per Gessle also has a say, is supposed to give "rare insights into the career of one of Sweden's most fascinating pop groups". He sees much that has not been published today as "an interesting part of our catalog". For this reason he thinks that "Bag of Trix" is a very exciting listening experience.

Roxette were founded in the mid-80s and were one of the most successful pop bands of the 90s with great international success. Hits like "Listen to Your Heart" or "It Must Have Been Love" even stormed to the top of the US charts. Due to Fredriksson's cancer, Roxette stopped touring in early 2016.
