Royal Mint introduces first coin with portrait of Charles III. before

The Royal Mint is issuing a commemorative £5 coin and a 50p coin featuring the new King’s portrait.

This is the first official English coin to bear the portrait of the new King Chalres III.

For the first time, the British mint Royal Mint has coins with the portrait of the new King Charles III. presented. The 73-year-old’s profile will first appear on a new commemorative £5 and 50p coin commemorating Queen Elizabeth II, who recently died at the age of 96. According to an old tradition, the monarch looks to the right after his mother has turned her head to the left. The commemorative coins should be available from October. The 50p coins will be phased into circulation from December, the Royal Mint announced on Friday.
