Whether Prince Harry, 38, and Duchess Meghan, 41, wedding, Queen Elizabeth’, †96, funeral or King Charles’, 74, coronation: Charles Armstrong-Jones, 24, regularly appears at major royal events with the British royal family, is the only grandson of Princess Margaret, †71, with a title and yet hardly anyone knows it. Who is the late Queen’s great-nephew who, unlike his sister Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones, 21, is otherwise keeping a low profile in public? We will introduce you to the quiet Windsor in more detail.

Royals that nobody knows: This is Queen Elizabeth’s unknown grandnephew (†)

Charles was born on July 1, 1999 at Portland Hospital in Marylebone. He is the son of the Queen’s nephew David Armstrong-Jones, Earl of Snowdon, 61, and his ex-wife Serena Alleyne Stanhope, 53, daughter of the Earl of Harrington. After 17 years of marriage, a spokesman told the BBC in February 2020 that the couple wanted a divorce.

Margaret’s grandson is currently number 25 in line to the British throne – ahead of his sister Margarita. In March 2012, the then 12-year-old was named the former first page of honor for his great-aunt Queen Elizabeth. He held this role until 2015, and now he lives free of royal duties.

Charles attended Eton and studied product design

Like his relatives Prince William, 41, and Prince Harry, Charles, who will one day inherit his father’s title Earl of Snowdon, attended Eton College. He was of the same year as his cousin Arthur Chatto, 24, son of Lady Sarah Chatto, 59, daughter of Princess Margaret.

Autodidact and musical talent

He then studied product design at the university in Loughborough, England, but has been working as a musician since graduating in 2021, according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail” – unlike his father, he did not inherit an entrepreneurial gene. David Armstrong-Jones once founded his own custom furniture company. But according to his sister Margarita, Charles is something of a musical prodigy.

In an interview with “Tatler” magazine, whose cover she graced in the May issue, the 21-year-old said: “He is very enthusiastic about his orchestral music. He is self-taught [und kann] sing, play piano and guitar. Somehow he combines it all – including online choirs – into a single piece of music on his laptop.”

Charles – the silent Windsor

Charles Armstrong-Jones does not have an official Instagram account like his sister. He has also never given an interview. Maybe that will change soon – with his success as a musician.
