Bruce Willis suffers from frontotemporal dementia – and his loved ones with him. His eldest daughter Rumer now summarized her emotions.

These are difficult times not only for Bruce Willis (68) himself, but also for the relatives of the actor, who suffers from frontotemporal dementia. His daughter Rumer Willis (35) summarized what her emotional state is currently in a short but touching post.

Memory of her childhood

On her Instagram account she posted a photo from her childhood. In it, the actor holds his eldest daughter as a toddler in his arms and looks at her lovingly. Rumer Willis, who became the mother of a girl in April, told her 1.1 million followers: “I really miss my dad today.” Like two other daughters, Rumer comes from Willis’ first marriage to Demi Moore (61). The 68-year-old then had two more daughters with his second wife Emma Heming-Willis (47).

It has been known since the beginning of the year that the Hollywood star is suffering from a rare form of dementia. After Rumer’s post, some commenters immediately expressed concern about whether Bruce Willis had died. However, many made the connection to his diagnosis of dementia, which affects memory, language and other functional abilities.

The Die Hard star’s daughter’s post came just days after a heartbreaking tribute from Emma Heming-Willis. In a personal essay for Maria Shriver’s “Sunday Paper” She wrote about the importance of sharing with others: “With a specific diagnosis you have the chance to find a community. You can connect with people who immediately understand your story. You don’t have to explain yourself.”

She went on to describe how privileged she was in the difficult situation and that she wanted to be an advocate for other affected people: “When I go on a hike to clear my head, I am aware that other caring relatives cannot do that. If the story of ours “As the family receives media attention, I know there are thousands of untold stories, all of which deserve compassion and concern.”

Tallulah Willis sends love to her sister

Willis’ daughter Tallulah, 29, also spoke about her father’s condition this month. At the beginning of November she was a guest the “Drew Barrymore Show” and said there: “He is the same, and I think in that respect I have learned that it is the best thing one can wish for. I see love when I am with him, and it is my father and he loves me, which is really something special.” Tallulah Willis also commented on Rumer’s recent post and sent her digital support: “Love you, sister.” That’s exactly what the Willis-Moore clan is known for: sticking together even in difficult times.
