RUMOR on the PS5 Pro: a monster of power, the technical sheet has leaked!

Sony launched its PlayStation 5 in 2020, a home console which is already in the second half of its life cycle. But, as usual, the Japanese manufacturer should launch an improved version of the PS5, a PS5 Pro which has already been talked about since last year, InsiderGaming/Tom Henderson had mentioned a more powerful console for the end of 2024, as well as a PlayStation portable Q Litewhich turned out to be the PS Portal.

Tom Henderson has since stated that the PS5 Pro would have the capacity to offer stable games in native 4K, or even 8K with a mode Performancewithout forgetting ray tracing improved. L’insider well-informed is back this week with juicy information, affirming that the technical sheet of the PlayStation 5 Pro revealed by Moore’s Law Is Dead would be real. The documentation would come from a developer portal PlayStationsent to several third-party studios and which is now shared for everyone on the Web.

The above data would therefore be confirmed, but above all, the rest of the PS5 Pro technical sheet is impressive :

  • Rendering 45% faster than the PS5;
  • Of ray tracing 2, 3 or even 4 times higher;
  • A power of 33.5 Teraflops, compared to 10.28 on PS5;
  • PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution UpscalingOr PSSRfor’upscaling and theantialiasing ;
  • An architecture of machine learning House ;
  • AI Acceleratoran artificial intelligence supporting 300 TOPS/8 bits in calculation and 67 TFLOPS/16 bits in floating point.

The PlayStation 5 Pro would thus promise to be a monster of power, with an enormous technical evolution, much more than the PS4 Pro for the PS4 at the time. It will be interesting to see how developers will manage to use the potential of this machine in the future, keeping in mind the PS5, Xbox Series X and especially Xbox Series S versions, which pale in comparison. According to InsiderGaming, the studios PlayStation would have access to development kits since September 2023, while third-party studios would have these devkits since January 2024 only. Test kits, identical to the final console, would be sent during next spring.

The PlayStation 5 Pro would be launched at the end of 2024, Sony is obviously aimed at the holiday season, but the release could be postponed because the manufacturer has already announced that it will not release any big titles first party before March 2025. Launching a console without a huge game to highlight its capabilities would indeed be shooting yourself in the footit remains to be seen how Sony will manage. Regarding the price, we must obviously expect a higher amount than the PS5, which already costs €549.99 on Amazon, Cdiscount Or there Fnac.
