Launched in early access in 2013 before offering a more complete version in 2018, Rust marked the history of survival games. The title was recently offered a console edition on PS4 and Xbox One, and obviously, we have to believe that this helped it to pass a symbolic milestone in its sales, since we learn that the game has sold more than 12 million copies.
An impressive success for the survival game
More exactly 12,481,079 copies, according to the latest figures announced by Facepunch, which were published in a report posted on Steam to wish the community a Happy New Year 2022.
Among the statistics that have been unveiled, we can also see that DLCs are successful with 1,111,846 sold to date, taking into account all the packs. The number of simultaneous players reached its peak with 267,211 people connected at the same time on the game, while the studio has already banned 600,000 accounts in order to clean up cheaters.
In terms of social networks and streaming, the studio boasts of having 400,000 users on Discord, and has nearly 1.3 billion views on Twitch, with 300 million hours viewed. In short, all this to remind us that Rust is a phenomenon, and the studio intends to continue supporting the game with many updates to come, including an update in February to improve in-game comfort.
