Saint-Gobain: a photovoltaic park in Romania with Engie

(CercleFinance.com) – Saint-Gobain Romania and Engie Romania sign a partnership to build the country’s largest photovoltaic park.

The 140,000 m2 park includes more than 15,000 solar panels. It is entirely dedicated to supplying the Călăraşi industrial site.

The energy park announces a maximum power of 8.6 megawatts peak (MWp). Enough to produce up to 14,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) each year, or the average annual consumption of 1,500 homes.

This carbon-free energy will provide 20% of the needs of the Călăraşi glass manufacturing plant and will reduce the site’s carbon footprint by 2,400 tonnes per year.
