(AOF) – Saint-Gobain has obtained clearance from the Competition Bureau in Canada for the acquisition, announced on June 12, 2023, of Building Products of Canada, an unlisted player producing roofing shingles for the residential sector as well as wood fiber insulation panels in Canada. The transaction is expected to close on September 1, 2023.
With this acquisition, Saint-Gobain is taking a new step to strengthen its leadership in sustainable construction in Canada. After the contribution of the siding segment with the acquisition of Kaycan in 2022, Building Products of Canad completes Saint-Gobain’s Exterior Solutions offer in the country, thus strengthening the existing activities of CertainTeed Canada, already a leader in Interior Solutions (gypsum, insulation, ceilings).
