Saint-Gobain: will reduce its CO2 emissions in Poland


(CercleFinance.com) – Saint-Gobain has signed a renewable electricity purchase agreement (PPA) with Tion Renewables, a German producer of wind and solar energy.

This 15-year contract will start in 2025 and will cover nearly 45% of Saint-Gobain’s electricity needs in Poland.

The PPA provides for the purchase of approximately 190 GWh of wind energy annually. This is equivalent to powering nearly 100,000 European homes with renewable electricity every year.

It will reduce CO2 emissions by 135,000 tonnes per year, i.e. nearly 20% of Saint-Gobain’s scopes 1 and 2 emissions in Poland and a 4% reduction in Saint-Gobain’s scopes 1 and 2 CO2 emissions. Gobain in Europe.
