Sales / Winter sales 2024 – The Philips L’OR Barista “5 star” coffee maker at €49.99 (-21%)

Coffee specialist L’OR has recently launched its very first capsule coffee maker. Made by Philips, the Barista looks like a Nespresso machine.

With the Barista, L’OR and Philips transformed the experiment and disrupted Nespresso on its territory. Simple, quick and efficient, the Barista offers several coffee sizes and can brew two preparations simultaneously. In addition, its catalog of capsules, less expensive than that of its competitor, and its availability in supermarkets could convince many users. It’s a shame that the capsules are made of aluminum, which in fact represents a real ecological waste.

Strong points

  • Simple to use and easy to maintain.
  • Several coffee sizes available.
  • Rapid preheating and extraction.
  • Quiet machine.

Weak points

  • Dispensing nozzles not at all precise.
  • Flashes in the event of insufficient water supply but does not block preparations.
  • Aluminum capsules.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude the prices of stores whose the VAT policy is not clear (so-called “gray” stores, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

With the Barista Sublime, Philips brings its capsule coffee maker up to date. Still as simple, fast and efficient, this new generation gains in compactness and manufacturing quality. Compatible with L’OR capsules, whatever the format, and those of Nespresso, this versatile machine also has the advantage of pouring two preparations simultaneously. It’s a shame that the capsules are made of aluminum, which in fact represents a real ecological waste.
