We could have thought the license Amigo’s Samba shelved after its episodes on arcade machine, Dreamcast and Wii. SEGA will however give it a new lease of life with Samba de Amigo: Party Central on Switch, a title that was announced during a Nintendo Direct for this summer.
The publisher has since revealed that a level inspired by Sonic Adventure 2 and the music Escape from the City of Sonic Adventure 2 And Fist Bump of sonic forces would be included in the experience, and also presented an initial list of playable tracks.

While waiting to discover the other 20 songs that will complete the track list of 40 titles, SEGA just revealed another essential piece of information: the release date. Samba de Amigo: Party Central will be available on August 29, 2023 exclusively on Switch and you will have the choice between a physical edition available for pre-order for €39.99 (notably at Amazon.co.uk) and an digital edition Deluxe with :
- The standard edition of the game;
- A DLC pack of Sonic music including fan-favorite tracks like Open Your Heart from Sonic Adventure, Reach For The Stars (Re-Colours) from Sonic Colours: Ultimate and I’m Here from Sonic Frontiers;
- A SEGA music DLC pack to set the mood for your parties with a selection of hits by SEGA: Bakamitai (Taxi Driver Edition), Go Go Cheer Girl!, taken from Space Channel 5: Part 2 and Rhythm Thief Theme from the game Rhythm Thief & the mysteries of Paris;
- Special costumes inspired by Sonic and Tails from Space Channel 5’s Sonic the Hedgehog series; Super Monkey Ball and finally Puyo Puyo.
This should delight fans of rhythm and video game melodies.
